We had loads of great suggestions for our Walking Anthems Competition and we have compiled our Top 40 in a Spotify playlist below. Thanks to everyone who contributed. By far the most popular song was Walking On Sunshine by Katrina and the Waves, closely followed by The Proclaimers' I'm Gonna Be (500 Miles).

You gave some very philosophical reasons for your choices, our favourite was from Jane Cooper from Angus College who chose Dire Straits' Walk of Life. Jane said "this is a happy, upbeat song with a rock'n'roll rhythm to get you motivated and walking briskly. I think it’s also fitting because we are all on our own walk of life or journey. Becoming more active through walking can also be life-changing because of the health benefits it can bring. The song could also be a reference to people from all walks of life as almost anyone can take part in walking. Some of the lyrics are about dedication and devotion and you definitely need these to get you through the 8-week walking challenge!"

We’ll announce the prize winners and post some more of your walking anthems shortly. Here's the Top 40...
