There are 12 Active Cairngorms Health Walks which cover the whole of the Cairngorms National Park. They are supported by the Cairngorms National Park Authority through the Active Cairngorms Strategy, which aims to make it easier and safer for people to move around the Park whatever their age, ability or background; to be more physically active, to learn about, care for and appreciate the Park.
Active Cairngorms Health Walks are short friendly walks, led by a local volunteer walk leader, for anyone who would like to feel better and meet new people in their community. The walks can last from 30 minutes to an hour, depending on how everyone feels on the day. Everyone is welcome regardless of ability, and all the walks finish with the chance for a cuppa and a blether! Take a look at the map of Health Walks in the area, you might be surprised at how close your nearest walk is!
There are a range of opportunities to become more involved: you might like to become a volunteer walk leader yourself, or take part in strength and balance exercises offered by many of our groups. We also encourage walkers to consider other activities.
