Volunteer winners 2017We want to recognise and celebrate the amazing volunteers involved in everyday walking activities across Scotland. Our Volunteer Awards are a great opportunity to acknowledge the fantastic work of your volunteers and say “thank you” for their time, commitment and enthusiasm. Please nominate your volunteers and project coordinator to let them know how much they are appreciated. 

The awards will be presented at the Scottish Parliament in Edinburgh on Thursday 20th September. All volunteers nominated will be invited to this free event.

Winners will be presented with £250 for their project, a certificate, glass award and a £30 gift voucher. All nominees will receive a certificate.

Community Path Volunteer of the Year
Do you know a volunteer who is driven and determined to improve paths in their local area? Have they carried out maintenance to improve the quality of the paths? Have they developed signage or way-markers? Perhaps they have set up volunteer action days including people from their community.

Community Path Group of the Year
Do you have a group of volunteers who work together to organise work days maintaining or building local paths. Do they raise funds, organise community events or promote their local paths with signage and leaflets?

Health Walk Volunteer of the Year
Do you know a volunteer who's been with you since the start? Someone who's led Health Walks week in, week out, in rain, hail or sunshine?

Health Walk Volunteer Group of the Year
Do you have a group of volunteers who work together to organise walks, rotas, holiday cover, days out, social events and more?

Dementia Friendly Walking Volunteer of the Year
Do you have a volunteer who has worked enthusiastically to make Health Walks accessible and welcoming to people living with dementia?

Volunteer Manager of the Year
Does your volunteer manager or project coordinator make a special effort to create a vibrant project? Have they organised celebration events, training days, and social activities? Do they keep everyone motivated and involved in project developments?

The closing date for nominations is midnight on Sunday 29th July.
