Trainers meet in Stirling for annual update

We welcomed 35 cascade and freelance trainers from across Scotland to a day of learning and networking in Stirling this week.

Trainers update day

The year alone, our trainers have trained over 900 new Health Walk Leaders.

We meet to ensure that everyone is up-to-date with the latest developments, such as the recently published Chief Medical Officers’ Physical Activity Guidelines.

We had the pleasure of hearing all about them, and recent research findings from Professor Nanette Mutrie, Director of the Physical Activity and Health Research Centre (PAHRC).

One participant said:

It was good to have a detailed look at the updated CMO guidelines and knowing what to stress when delivering the next training days.

Another said:

I enjoyed the whole day. It was varied, good topics being discussed and great meeting other trainers I haven't met before.

We are lucky to be able work with such a committed bunch of trainers who welcome and support new volunteers to become confident in leading Health Walks.
