Welcoming new Board Members to Paths for All this Trustees’ Week

Trustees’ Week is a chance to showcase the vital role our Directors play by volunteering their time and expertise and working together in the interests of Paths for All.

Paths for All Directors

This trustees’ week, we take the opportunity to acknowledge and thank our Directors for the invaluable role they play in the success of Paths for All.  We also say farewell to three invaluable Directors and welcome two new Directors.

At our recent AGM, Simon Rennie and Douglas Brotherston stepped down from the Board after completing their maximum 9-year term as a Paths for All Director and Maureen Kidd steps down after 7 years as a Director.

Simon brought his wealth of experience and knowledge as a highly respected Chief Executive of Central Scotland Green Network Trust and voluntary Trustee of a range of charities to his role as Director. His legacy as a Director is significant in terms of the organisation’s impact and its governance arrangements.

Douglas steps down as our Audit Director and Chair of our Finance Sub-group.  Douglas was instrumental in developing Paths for All’s robust and fit-for-purpose financial systems, by sharing his in-depth knowledge and expertise from running his own accountancy business and working with a wide range of clients, including charity clients.

Maureen’s experience and knowledge in health policy and delivery helped inform Paths for All’s health related activities, in particular the development of the Walking for Health programme.  Maureen also helped bring a rigour and robustness to our monitoring and evaluation procedures.

All three will be greatly missed from our board but we are delighted to welcome our new Directors Scott Christie and Brendan Paddy.

Scott is a Chartered Accountant with 30 years of experience in a variety of industries including the drinks sector, hospitality and most recently social care. Scott brings extensive board experience from previous roles as CEO, Chairman and Non-Executive director, alongside his love of the outdoors and being active.

Ramblers Scotland Director, Brendan, has a strong interest in our Walking for Health programme, having previously worked on the equivalent programme in England. He brings a wealth of experience from the last 20 years working in voluntary sector communications roles, and a real passion for the outdoors and supporting others to access opportunities to get active.

We look forward to another year with our Board of Directors to drive Paths for All forward and ensure good governance. Find out more about the rest of our Board here.
