Walking is a great way to get around the Oor Wullie Big Bucket trail

Members of the public are being encouraged to go out with their free maps and downloadable apps to spot Oor Wullies.

With 60 Oor Wullies in Edinburgh, 58 in Glasgow, 36 each in Aberdeen and Dundee and 10 in Inverness, there's lots of scope for everyone to tour around the Big Bucket Trail.

A key part of the campaign is to promote the discovery of the sculptures through travel, be that walking, cycling or using public transport to get around the trail.

Organisers say it presents an ideal opportunity to switch on the built-in pedometer on the app and get walking round Oor Wullie’s Big Bucket trail.

The trail will be available until late August, and there's themed weeks to enjoy along the way.

Walking or cycling around all of the Oor Wullies is a fantastic way to enjoy the trail. During this themed week there is also a Wullie’s walking challenge when people can record their steps via the OWBBT app’s pedometer.
