Scaling up active travel hubs in Forth Valley schools

Delivered by Forth Environment Link and supported by our new SCSP Active Nation Fund, the Forth Valley School Active Travel Hub project aims to facilitate active travel within the school community.

Forth Environment Link has received funding through the new Active Nation Fund enabling them to scale up the successful School Active Travel Hub model to work in two new secondary schools; Larbert High School and Balfron High School. In 2023/24 they will be working in Balfron High School, Larbert High School, Bannockburn High School, Alloa Academy and Lornshill Academy targeting pupils, staff and parents.

Through a range of activities, they intend to remove barriers to active and sustainable travel faced by the school communities whilst also highlighting the physical, mental, and social wellbeing benefits. In turn, they hope to increase active and sustainable travel rates to or from the school as well as within the communities.

Supported by Transport Scotland, Smarter Choices, Smarter Places is Paths for All's behaviour change programme encouraging people to travel actively and sustainably by walking, wheeling, and cycling. Learn more here.
