Surface Regularity

PDF Print

<< Back to Glossary

A measure of unevenness of the path base and surface surfaces.

Checking tolerances on surface regularity are normally expressed in terms of the permissible departure (maximum gap) from the underside of a 3m long timber straight edge laid along the surface of path base and surface.

For a path base, the maximum gap under a 3m long timber straight edge should be 10mm.

For a path surface, the maximum gap under a 3m long timber straight edge should be 5mm.
