Resin Bonded Surfacing

<< Back to Glossary

A thin surfacing technique, single sized chippings glued together with UV resin are applied directly to an existing or newly laid bound surface to provide the appearance of loose gravel. The chippings are firmly held in place by the resin. It is a surfacing approach that adds surface texture and improves grip for path users, particularly for cyclists and horses, and can be used to change the colour of an existing black bitmac or asphalt path. It is sometimes referred to as surface dressing. There are now a number of proprietary resin bonded surfacing products available such as Ronadeck Fast Grip or Addagrip Addastone.
