We can help you to find solutions to issues you may have with your local paths and can assist with the development and management of your path projects, through technical advice, support and training.

We offer a range of technical advice, support and training to meet your needs.  Assistance can be provided on a one-to-one or group basis, indoors and outdoors, at your location.  You may have an idea for a path project, but need some support to start moving the project forward, or you may be about to start path work, but have limited knowledge of working with contractors or volunteers building paths.  You may want to do maintenance work on paths, but don't know where to start.  If so, we are able to help and support you.

Our technical advice, support and training is 'free' for community groups, community councils and development trusts.

We offer technical advice, support and training in:

  • Planning projects

  • Surveying paths

  • Feasibility reports

  • Drawing drawings and writing specifications

  • Writing tender and health and safety documents

  • Evaluating tenders and selecting contractors

  • Building paths, bridges, boardwalks

  • Working with volunteers or contractors

  • Safe use and maintenance of hand tools

  • Safe use and maintenance of small machinery (tracked power barrow, roller, whacker plate)

  • Health and safety (risk assessment, CDM)

  • Site supervision for path construction projects

  • Maintaining paths.

If any of the above activities are of interest to you, or if you have any questions, please email our Technical Officer - Graeme Anderson, or phone Graeme on 01259 222330 for a chat or further information.
