Being physically active and sitting less each day can make you feel good, stay healthy and boost your energy!

We have an exciting opportunity for you to take part in the Sit Less, Move More study with the University of Glasgow.

Sit Less, Move More is a new programme to help older people be more physically active and sit less at home.

The benefits of being active and sitting less are well known – it makes you feel good, stay healthy and boosts your energy – especially as you get older. Being active is even more important at the moment when coronavirus guidelines are restricting our daily lives.

We're working with a team of researchers at the University of Glasgow who are developing a new home-based programme to support people to become more active and sit less.

They are looking for volunteers to help them to test the programme.

They are looking for people who:

  • Are aged 60 or over
  • Live in their own home
  • Feel like they sit for more than three hours a day

The programme is 10 weeks and fully complies with coronavirus guidelines. It includes telephone sessions with a trained guide, walking and light exercises to improve strength and balance. Participants will also complete three research phone calls over the course of the project.

If you would like to find out more about the study, please do get in touch by calling the research team on their Freephone number:
