Overview: Well maintained path networks have the potential to become wildlife corridors, transporting wildlife as well as people.

Date: 21 February 2018

Time: 9.30am - 4.00pm

Location: Arran Room, SRUC Oatridge Campus, Ecclesmachan, Broxburn, EH52 6NH

Cost: This course is free. Lunch and refreshments are included.

What will I learn?

You will learn how to:

  • Matters to consider before any habitat management works commence
  • What can be done to improve habitats during routine path maintenance
  • How habitat improvements can be integrated into new build paths
  • Realising the added value a 'greener' path will bring
  • Visit a 'live' site to learn more about the enhancement/management techniques used and why
  • Know where to start looking for further information and support

What to bring and wear on the day

This course will involve an outdoor site visit. You will need to bring appropriate outdoor clothing and wear suitable footwear.
