James Fowlie

James joined our board in April 2006 bringing community planning, environment and regeneration knowledge from his extensive career in Local Government at Lothian Regional Council and Midlothian Council. He is currently Director for Integration and Development at the Convention of Scottish Local Authorities, where he oversees five teams responsible for a range of policies. He has worked on a range of high profile issues at COSLA including transport and planning legislation, climate change and land reform. He has led on much of COSLA's European policy and lobbying work, particularly around regional policy and the environment.

In addition to being on our board, James sits on the Scottish Council for Development and Industry. A Raith Rovers fan, he enjoys reading (particularly Scottish crime fiction) and listening to music.
