Path Construction & Contract Management Basics
Overview This one day course provides a basic introduction to constructing paths in rural and urban environments and managing a path construction project efficiently and safely.
Date Wednesday 27th February 2013
Location SNH Conference Centre, Battleby near Perth
Cost This course is free to community volunteers (£90 for non-volunteers).
Who is the course aimed at? This course is aimed mainly at community groups who are involved in, or interested in, path construction and managing path construction projects. The course is particularly of value to those new to these subjects. This course may be of interest to access staff, rangers or path managers.
What will I learn?
- How paths are built
- How to prepare a bill of quantities
- How to find and invite contractors to tender
- How to select a contractor to build your path
- How to manage a contractor whilst building your path
- How to deal with site and contractor problems
