Walkers Database

The Paths for All Walkers Database is an online database which helps local Health Walking Projects throughout Scotland collect and report on information about their health walks, Walkers and Walk Leaders.  It also assists Projects to manage their information, mail merge addresses and keep track of details of specific interest to them.  The Walkers Database is the updated version of the former Led Walk Database and is just as easy to use.  Scheme Coordinators have said:

'We love it!  Invaluable to the project'

'I don't know what I'd do without it.  I use it all the time.'

Why should Walking for Health Projects in Scotland use the Walkers Database?

Local Projects find it useful because it helps them feed back information and down-loadable reports to their members, partners and funders which showcase their walking successes.

Paths for All reports on the aggregated figures from the Database to Scottish Government, Health Scotland and other partners on a regular basis to demonstrate the real benefits of health walking. We press for a higher profile for health walking in Scotland and continued funding for all Health Walk Projects.  So it is important that as many local Health Walking Projects as possible use the Database so that the data represents health walkers throughout the country.

How is the Walkers Database different to the Led Walk Database?

The biggest change is that Paths for All enters your new Walkers' details onto the Database saving you considerable administration time.  See link to Scheme Coordinator letter.

Scheme Coordinators are supplied with carbonless copy Walkers Contact Details Form 1 and New Walker Activity Form 2 with which to collect Walker information.  The links above describe how to use them in more detail.

After they have been walking with your Project for 6 months, Paths for All also contacts your Walkers for follow up feedback using the Follow up Activity Form 3 and inputs this information into the Database as well.  You can simply download reports showing Walker contact details, profile information and initial and follow up physical activity information.

A new report allows you to keep track of information useful to you e.g. which Walk Leaders have first aid certificates, which walkers are interested in longer walks.

Who can use the Walkers Database?

If you are a Project that is running health walks in the community, then you may be able to use the Database to record and present your information – just give Laurene MacKenzie at Paths for All a ring on 01259 222335, and she can let you know if your Project is compatible with the database and set up a username and password for you.

We do believe that this database is very easy to use and an online User Guide is included on your Project's Database pages.  Training and on-going support is also offered.  Click here to read the User Guide.

If you already have a username and password, click Login to Walkers Database to login.

You can continue to use the username and password you were given for the Led Walk Database.  All your existing walker information has been transferred over.
