When you set up a group, it's worth letting a few people know as they might be able to help you out in the future. People and organisations who you might want to inform include:

  • Paths for All
  • your local authority access officer
  • your local councillor
  • your local MP / MSP
  • your local health walking scheme and any local health walk groups in your area
  • any big companies / major employers in the area who might be able to help with funding or labour in the future
  • any local Jog Scotland / walking / running / rambling groups

A simple letter setting out details of the new group and what you're hoping to achieve should be enough to keep them informed and maybe get them interested. You might also want to think about writing a press release for your local newspapers to let them know that the group has been established. You can find more information here about how to generate publicity for your group and the work you do.
