Having an agreed clarity about the role of the LAF and its individual members is the foundation of your meetings. Does everyone having a clear understanding of these?
- ‘A key point to note is that Forums are there to give advice and offer assistance - not to take decisions or adjudicate in disputes’ (see p33 Blue Book)
- Members are not on the Forum to express neither their own views nor those of their ‘particular organisation’, but ‘to represent constituencies of interest’ (see p15 Blue Book)
- Ensure new members are clear
- Always take time to re-visit these in a meeting if it appears they are not clear to everyone
