SNH Visitor Monitoring Manual
This Scottish Natural Heritage manual is a practical toolkit to help site managers to design and implement an effective Visitor Monitoring Strategy; offering guidance on simple, cost effective monitoring techniques that can be undertaken ‘in house’.
It is built on sound practical experience of undertaking monitoring programmes, good practice from around the UK and recent research on visitor monitoring. The Manual is aimed at site managers working within different organisations and managing a range of visitor sites:
•Community groups
•Land-managing NGOs
•Access authorities
•Government agencies
•Private sector land managers
It covers different scales of monitoring, from a single site to a suite of sites and also sites covering a large geographical area.
The Manual is hosted by Paths for All on behalf of SNH.
